Burning Permit  Information

All residents within Hampton Limits are required to be in possession of a valid burning permit twelve (12) months of the year when conducting any burning. All permits are FREE of charge.

To check if burning is allowed in Kings County please click here or call 1-866-458-8080. This will be updated DAILY at 2:00 pm.

To apply for either a recreational fire pit or brush burning permit click HERE.

 

If you encounter any issues with the online submission please print the form, fill it out and email the form to fire.prevention@hampton.ca

Important Notes:

  • It could take a few days for your application to be reviewed and approved. Please be patient.

  • Your permit is not valid until the fire prevention officer approves your application and has advised you by phone or email.

  • Permits are valid for two (2) weeks and can be renewed once by calling the Fire Prevention Officer at (506)832-6094 (Opt.5)

To obtain a permit for an ornamental wood-burning fireplace, outdoor stove or fire pit please do the following:

  1. Email fire.prevention@hampton.ca or call (506) 832-6094 (Opt.5) to arrange for a site inspection.

 

Important Notes:

  • Propane fire pits, fire tables or BBQs do NOT need require a permit or inspection and can be used anytime, even when there is a fire ban in place.

Any residents living outside the boundaries of Hampton do not require a permit as per the Department of Natural Resources rules. Burning is regulated by the DNR toll-free information line at 1-866-458-8080 from April to October. The remaining months are regulated by the NB Dept. of Environment.
